Super Captain Guy (2000)
Now this is a true BraxtanFILM classic. Of course, I shot it under the production company name of “No Budget Productions”yeah, I know…really creative. This was the production name I used from the early 1990’s up to early 2003 when I officially changed it to BraxtanFILM. When I originally set out to write this film in early 2000, I wanted to make a feature length film about a super hero with absolutely no powers, and I wanted it to be REALLY cheesy. I achieved two of my goalsthe super hero has no powers, and it’s ultra cheesy. It’s not quite a feature, as it rings in at just under 50 minutes (though I suppose at some film festivals, this is technically feature length; I prefer to think of feature as over 70 minutes!). This film follows the heroic and moronic exploits of Leroy and his sidekick, Roach. They embark on a quest to rid the world of our greatest threat: The Colon Master and his army of evil minions. This movie was shot over about a month, and was filmed in
Littleton
and
Grand Junction
,
Colorado
. A lot of it is influenced by such movies as “Orgazmo”, “American History X”, “
South
Park
”, and “Footloose”. Please excuse the bad actingwe didn’t know what we were doing (not that I ever have). Also, please try to ignore the crappy video quality; it was filmed on VHS, and edited on two VCRs. All sound comes from the on camera mic. However, you’re in for a treat, because in 2001 I discovered that I could actually edit films on a computer! So, I captured all the footage to the ol’ PC and re-hashed it into “Super Captain Guy: Special Edition”, which is what you’re about to see here. By the way, this film has lots of violence and harsh languageviewer discretion is advised!
