They look great!

I love that movie, even though just about everyone else I talk to absolutely hates it.

They aren't functional, are they?

Nah, they're just static props...maybe in the future they could walk, talk, explode.

I will probably start on a Daisy Necklace real soon...been in a sort of SMB movie groove lately...

I've also got the parts to start on a Devo gun...

But I'll finish smaller props first and work my way up to thwomp shoes.

The Bob-omb might have been my favorite part of the movie. Cool props.

THWOMP

Okay...so I just started on a year old project...here are some progress shots.

I got these over a year ago...to turn them into this.

So around noon today I cracked them open and started building...

After two hours later...

The Devo Gun barrel is pretty much finished.

Here is what it looks like "roughly" put together.

Just have to work on the stock alittle bit and the scope and this bad boy is done!

 Cool

I have to say sonic, I am a big fan of the work you've been doing latley in the ways of Mario Bros. As "off" as it was, especially considering I've read the original draft of the films script (mcu for fantasy orientde and closer to the source materail), I still really enjoy the live action Mario Brothers movie. Was going to try my own adaptation here soon if Nintindo doesn't jump on that shit. Really looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.

Anyone else know that Harold Ramis was oriingally approches to direct the Mario brother film?

Yeah, too bad Harold turned down the SMB, I'm pretty sure he could have crafted a different movie and not had pissed of Bob Hoskins in the process...oh well.

Update: Done and Done.

I took a few liberties while making it.  So it's not really 100% accurate to the movie.  More like it's a version 2.0 or something.

So next up in the SMB replica line up is a pair of thwompers...

Enjoy!

Update:

Cut down the length of the grenade shell to match the movie version.  Broke 3 cutting bits on ONE shell.  Glued both halves together.

Cleaned it up and painted it.

Just need to put a big smiley face on the end of it and I'm done.

Wish we could have borrowed your gear. Tool belts were a little outside the budget...
