How I miss the good ol' days--making a short film nearly every month, lots of activity on the boards--truly a nice community that I was proud of.

It's been rather desolate around here lately...and I guess that's my fault.  I haven't produced a short in...almost three years now.  We put everything into ROTGB, and now...I just don't have the energy to do shorts anymore.  With no new videos posted, people don't have much of a reason to come here anymore.

Don't get me wrong--I'm not done making movies...not by a long shot.  After years of working for free, producing various shorts and parodies, I now find myself inching closer and closer to our first feature with a budget.  Every bit of film work I've done in the past 10 years--every short, every feature, fan film, parody, FX test, spec script, equipment purchase...it's all been with the hope, with the dream that one day, someone would pay me and my friends to do what we've always loved.

Although that day seems to be near, I guess I'll always cherish the good ol' days.  The days when we didn't care if we were getting paid, or what credit we got in the film.  The days we spent freezing our asses off out in the snow, covered with fake blood.  The days when we spent 15 hours shooting into the early morning because we didn't know if we'd get the location or actors again.  The days when we planned films, but not enough people showed up, so we just...camped out.

A wise man once said "The good ol' days may not return...".  Well, maybe not.  But the future looks bright, and one day we'll look back on those days with fond memories.

Anyway, here's hoping our future success might...bring us all together, again.

Well some say life will beat you down

Break your heart, steal your crown

So I started out for God knows where

But I guess I'll know when I get there

I hope the forums don't close...there are some crazy people that waste some time here man, but some film makers like myself use it to keep others in formed about their movies and even gather ACTUAL creative critisism. You get it from real people here, not pompous ass holes. Through Braxtanfilm I have formed some STRONG film alliances and without Hank himself I might not be as close to finishing my own film as I am.

I don't want to close the forums necessarily...but I need to re-work the website.  The tough part is, I can't talk about most of the projects I'm working on for various reasons.  Back in the day we used to discuss all of our projects and get the community involved.

Since the forums is not active that much anymore, now I just go here every once in a while now instead of daily.

Anyway, I know you been busy lately, Hank, but I know we going to see some great movies, tv shows, etc from you soon. Smiley

I have just become a member due to the popularity over the internet. Being a newbie I can't really say much other than I've watched, and downloaded most of the short films AND the rotgb feature length film. Everyone talks about the good ole days, well, why should that be a thought for ending? Being busy is a part of life. I guess I should apologize in advance in case I offend anyone.

I've only just noticed this thread lol Keep the forums, it's good for discussing random crap we find on youtube and seeing other peoples hard working shorts posted on here as well as you own Hank.

As for activity, we all know your working on top secret projects, and all we can do is standby till you're ready to release it for all our viewing pleasure, obvisouly for a price though, support the film Smiley

Hank, I'm pretty sure you've inspired more than a few young people on these boards to reach for their dreams, myself included. You remain one of the most bold and interesting filmmakers I've ever had the good fortune to encounter. I can't wait to see Brave New World and The House That Jack Built...too bad the forums are deader than a doornail.

I can't believe my account still exists!!!

Ive been following BraxtanFilm since 04 when i saw the trailer for Freddy VS Ghostbusters and i fell in love with it and couldnt believe how good the production was for an independent film it is now in my movie collection with the Ghostbusters on dvd but braxtanfilm will never die because after all this is the place were boredom comes to die right? But i hope to see Hank Braxtan as a hollywood director some day and you can be sure i will be the first to see your feature film. Long live braxtanfilm! I think you should keep these forums up as a remembrance of all your hard work to your films.

I still pop in now and then.

But now that I'm making real movies, it's hard to find time to get on here...let alone make anymore new short films.  I've been toying with the idea of converting the whole site into a blog...we'll see.

I do manage to put updates on Twitter occasionally.  Username BraxtanFILM.

Hey everyone...just wanted to let you know I wont be online much for a couple days.  Allen leaves a week from today so I am getting kits out and devoting the rest of the time to family stuff.  I am going to unchain myself from the computer this morning and will be back on Monday.
