Well I mean I'm just saying...

Ghostbusting is an intense job, you gotta be in decent shape to keep up with things that can take short cuts through walls.

Well they would want them to be in shape for the insurance reasons too. They dont want obese guys in their "golden years" running around in jumpsuits with heavy equipment strapped to their backs. Murray apparently bitched about it back when they were YOUNG for God's sake.

The packs I made for FvGB and ROTGB were mostly molded plastic, and barely weighed 11 pounds.  The packs in the original films weighed significantly more, as I understand.

Advantage, me.

From Moviehole.net!

Bill Murray has always been the least interested about doing another "Ghostbusters" movie but yesterday, speaking at Fantastic Fest, the actor expressed a little more enthusiasm for the project, indicating he's on board.

Aint it Cool News reports that Murray "said that he knew "some writers from THE OFFICE" were taking a stab at the script right now (which we already knew) and that he thinks that's a good start. He paused for a few seconds then said that he thinks enough time has passed and that "the wounds from GHOSTBUSTERS 2 are healed" and that he would definitely be into doing another GHOSTBUSTERS movie, stating that the first 40 minutes of the original film is some of the best stuff he's been associated with and the whole shoot was an amazing amount of fun. He also went on to say that his enthusiasm for Ghostbusters was heightened after recording the voice of Peter Venkman for the video game over the summer. In fact, he said he found himself walking down the street singing the Ghostbusters theme song and then thought people walking around him were going to start yelling at him to "get over yourself, Bill," so he stopped... But the enthusiasm was there."

That's great news - but I personally expected he'd agree to return for no more than a cameo. Slimed by Slimer in the first five minutes of the film or something.

"The Office" co-exec producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have been working on a script designed to bring back the original cast - Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

Lets hope all goes well,i hope to see all 4 cast in the movie for a reasonable time and not just a short appearance each..

Maybe that $215,000,000 world wide gross hurt the global economy?

Man I liked Ghostbusters 2 too.

What if it's just a pile of advertising bullshit to hype up Ghostbusters fans to buy the game?

You know it's possible.

I agree... I think there hoping the game will revamp the Ghostbuster franchise into a new movie, unless its a big fat plot to steal our money from a game that could be crappy like manvsbear said lol

another update for you then.. Below is the following from Moviehole...

"Ghostbusters" was on TV last night. Again. And I tell ya, I have no problem watching it - despite having sat through about fifty times. It's such a good movie. Yes, the effects are dated, and the cheesy soundtrack is a little much at times (but cool at the time, right?), but as an overall movie experience, it rocks. It was probably the last time we got truly excited whilst watching a movie - I'm not talking about going into a movie, I'm talking about smiling, clapping, cheering...as the movie was in progress.

Good news, then. The flick is headed for Blu-Ray. Finally.

The Digital Bits just posted the following :

Okay... speaking of title announcements, here's an official one hot off the wires: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will indeed be releasing Ghostbusters on Blu-ray Disc on 6/16, in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary and timed to coincide with the release of Atari's Ghostbusters: The Video Game the same day. The Blu-ray (SLP $38.96) will include most (if not all) of the previous DVD extras, including audio commentary with Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis and Joe Medjuck, 10 deleted scenes, storyboard comparisons and 3 featurettes (The Making of Ghostbusters, Interviews with Cast and Crew and SFX Team with before and after multi-angle explorations). New features for the Blu-ray include a Slimer Mode picture-in-picture viewing option (featuring an examination of the spook-hunters' firehouse headquarters, an in-depth exploration of the creatures in the Ghostbusters mythology, behind-the-scenes discussions of making the movie, new cast, crew and special effects artists interviews and much more), the Ecto-1: Resurrecting the Classic Car featurette, a Ghostbusters Garage: Ecto-1 Gallery and a 32-page scrapbook. The title will also include BD-Live connectivity, offering additional features (TBA). FYI, there's no official word yet on Ghostbusters 2, but we'll check on it.

There was also this i forgot to post up for you the other week.. on Sigourney Weaver..

Remember Sigourney Weaver mentioning a couple of weeks back that she was going to meet with Bill Murray and possibly talk about the new Ghostbusters movie? Yes?

Well, seems the meeting was merely just a catch-up. Weaver tells The Chicago Tribune it doesn’t look like she’ll be involved in the new film.

"I don't know really what I would be in it," she said. "Maybe I'd be in a scene. But I'm not that integral a part to the actual Ghostbusting."

Now that it’d be sad if Weaver wasn't asked back. Surely Venkman ended up with Dana? How could he not? Did he not save her baby from the evil petite bloke from Ally McBeal in ‘’Ghostbusters II’’? As she said though, maybe she'd be in a scene. We can hope.

Weaver, who confirmed Murray had signed on, also touched upon rumours that the film will see the current Ghostbusters training up some new young guns. The actress says they’re going to have a hard time finding actors to play the new generation.

"I think the hard thing would be finding people who are as unique as Bill and Harold and Danny. That was a pretty amazing triumvirate of talent there—and [director] Ivan Reitman," she said. "So that's what I would worry about it."

I'll believe it when I see actual screen shots

-edit-

Well from the newest video it does look like a legit, movie is being made there. And if it really was for GB3 then it's all a possibility that they're maybe doing some testing or some crap for a Teaser that won't use any real footage.

But you know what it could be? Past life experiences intruding on present time.
