http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddy_vs._Ghostbusters

Hey guys!  The folks over at GBfans.com have put together a wiki page for Freddy vs Ghostbusters.  However, like the RotGB articles before it, it is now up for deletion and we need your help to keep it online.

http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=48635#p48635

Visit that topic and help AJ and others keep the FvsGB page online!  I don't know much about wiki editing, but I'll try to hunt down some more information to put under the "reference" sections.

"Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name. Please search for Freddy vs. Ghostbusters in Wikipedia to check for alternative titles or spellings."

I'm sure it will be back up when BraxtanFILM get their break in the big time, just a matter of time Smiley

Well, since it has been taken down...maybe we should prepare for the "second coming"...of the article.

So I porpose that this thread be turned into a FvsGB reference/sources thread.

Just like last time, the RotGB article suffered from "noteworthyness" and a mod cited that FvsGB needed more references.

I dunno, by then not accepting "this" entry is like wiki only having the "Ghostbusters II wiki article" but not the first Ghostbusters movie article.

So from aside the references on the FvGB homepage, if anyone finds new or old FvsGB articles, post them here.  I'll be collecting links and sources for the next try at wikipedia.  If that fails, then we can always work Freddy vs Ghostbusters into the RotGB article.

We'll give this another go in a few months or so.  So, until then, be collecting articles or start writing new articles.  I guess now would be a good time for someone to write up a detailed bio for each character?  Maybe settle the "Ed's Dad" question once and for all?

Ok here is what I came up with. It started as an explanation, but due to my love of the series quickly turned into a story. Anyone wants to add to it go ahead. Anyone wants it to make a script go ahead. Anyone wants to just give me money go ahead.
Maybe settle the "Ed's Dad" question once and for all?

Ed Spangler - Although he is claimed to be the nephew of Ghostbuster, Egon Spangler, it is believed that after Ray Stanz almost died at the hand of his friends while being possessed by Vigo the sorrow of Muldovia, Egon created a clone of himself using free forming high mass proton particle and accelerating them in a vacuum. The particles combined with "happy" mood slime to retro act as a stabilizer for the ectoplasmic reticulum.

He discovered this could be done after the battle of the Ghostbusters and the Ghost-busters.

After the slime is stabilized, it is gestated in a centrifuge for 22.3 hours over the course of 6 days. This new substance yields 6 parts anti-matter, 4 parts unknown.
The anti-matter is then combined with more positively charge ectoplasm and accelerated at 9cm/sec. The resulting mass that returns is accelo-matter. When touched by Egon the substance engulfed him and left him unconscious for several hours. He was later revived by a 12 year old version of himself.

Having successfully generated living tissue from non-living particles, Egon realized what he had done but it was too late. Unable to take a life, Egon became irrational in his thoughts and told the other Ghostbusters, that his nephew dropped in unexpectedly, and he was going to train him to bust ghosts so he could study his brainwaves. Peter suspects Egon is lying about Ed because the sensation he gets is similar to when Slimer is around. Peter having been slimed by the green spud, absorbed some of ectoplasmic particles into his DNA. Although he has his suspicions, he never says anything.

After several years of successful training, Egon sent Ed, now 16, to live in Denver, CO as a final test. He was enrolled in Denver University and Colorado State.

Ed met his friends Eugene O' Fitzpatrick and Neil Anderson while working as a delivery driver for a pizza company.  The three quickly became great friends Neil would help Ed try to find a girlfriend and loosen up. Ed would help them, unknowingly, cheat on their science tests.
He would later admit that pizza delivery and being friends with those guys was tedious and hard work for his brain to act so slowly, but he needed to try and fit in.

Unexpectedly, he graduated with honors from both universities in 2 years.
At his graduation Eugene and Neil brought there friend Nancy and her boyfriend Chuck, Neil's worthless roommate.

Chuck instantly didn't like Ed for two reasons, the first being Ed used what he had learned about women to ask Nancy to dinner and the second being Ed gave Chuck the 'hee-bee gee-bees" and reminded him of all the bad dreams he had had combined into one.

To Chuck's dismay Nancy agreed to the dinner

This hatred continued to grow and was fueled more when Ed continued to take Nancy out for dinner. Although his intensions were harmless, Ed was impressed that Neil actually knew a lot about women. Although he couldn’t understand why he was so unsuccessful in his own endeavors

While walking past Denver Mattress Co. with Eugene, Neil, Nancy and Chuck, who would no longer acknowledge Ed’s existence.

Ed and Chuck were bumped accidentally by Neil when he spun around to point at a mattress leaning against the store front. Neil said he is buying that mattress and soon after all the ladies into will be coming over.

Upon being bumped by Neil, Ed and Chuck both knocked into each other and a small metal pin that was holding the mattress upright. The small pin ripped Ed’s green shirt and cut him enough to draw a small amount of blood. The blood dropped unnoticed by anyone onto the seam of the mattress and was instantly absorbed.

Egon flew to Denver after reading about his “nephew” in the news. He congratulated him on his achievements and returned with Ed to New York to study him further. Egon notices the cut on Ed’s arm and asks if he is ok.

Nancy, Eugene, Neil and Chuck took Ed and Egon to the airport.

While driving away from the airport Chuck noticed a small rip in his shirt and a scratch on his skin.  Nancy asks if he is okay and he just blows it off blaming Ed calling him names and says it must have happened when the world’s smartest idiot bumped into me the other day.

Neil begins to tell him how gross it is that he hasn’t changed his shirt in two days and he probably hasn’t showered either, but is interrupted by his cell phone.

“Sir, this is the Denver Mattress Co. and we are ready to deliver your mattress. Will you be available in the next hour?”

The next day, Neil claims he had a rough night. All he remembers is he had a bad dream, but can’t recall the contents.

Five Years Later

After many success missions with the Ghostbusters, Egon feels Ed is quite “normal” as they say and can easily pass for a human being in any situation.
Peter approaches Egon and finally tells him he thinks there may be something wrong with his nephew. He says he has always had strange feelings of dread when ever Ed is around, bur he just ignored it. Now that Slimmer is back with the Ghostbusters, he notices that Slimmer is terrified of Ed, more so than he is of Peter. Peter admits to zapping Slimmer with the proton wand every now and then, but doesn’t understand the spud’s fear towards Ed.

Ed rushes into the room and says something is wrong, he doesn’t know what it is but he feels as if something terrible is about to happen.  Egon, Peter and Ray quickly check the computers, but they don’t see anything. Winston comes back from his lunch; not knowing what is going on he points at Egon’s screen and asks about a small bluish dot. Egon says probably nothing, he tells Winston and the other that glitches happen, a blue dot appears only when the PKE reading are off the chart and that hasn’t happened since being at the top of 55 Central Park west. Peter chimes in, “Dana Barret’s apartment.

Egon says not to worry because the dot is over Denver, CO.

Neil wakes up screaming in the middle of the night. His left arm is bleeding from four long scratches. In his right hand he holds a dusty brown fedora.

Ed checks the computer screen diligently. He sees the blue dot Egon talked about but there is something not right about it. Ed urges Egon to look into the anomaly on the computer but Ed ignores him.

Neil wakes up screaming. He is not cut but his leg is bruised again, he remembers in his dream that was running away and he tripped over some garbage cans. He remembers that he has done this in his dream before.  He doesn’t remember what he was running from.

He tells his friends about his re-occurring nightmre, Nancy worries about Neil. Chuck just mocks him about his ‘wild nights’ comments. Eugene is not paying attention he is reading a thesis on the truth behind Egyptian mythology by Professor Klaus Constantine.

Ed finally convinces Egon to look into the anomaly after pointing out that is has been over a month and the dot not only hasn’t gone away, but it has doubled in size.

The discovery is not a good one. Egon  pulls Ed aside and explains to him exactly how he was created. He tells him the original slime particles came from the remains of their original suits, which were contaminated at Dana Barret’s apartment. He tells him about the battle with the ghost-busters and the discovery of “happy” slime. Ed listens as if this is nothing new, but it is. He has unaccounted for memories of ghostbusting adventures, although he doesn’t remember being there.

Egon shows Ed the juice that was left over from his experiment. He still has it because he is afraid that an unlikely person will unwillingly create a monster. Egon says he is lucky that Ed turned out the way he did, but does not know why.

Egon tells Ed he must go back to Denver to discover the cause of the high PKE reading. He believes what ever cut Ed’s arm may be the stem of the problem.

I hate to be a picker of nits, but wouldn't anything associated with Hank's movie be fan fiction by nature?

Or are you suggesting this could be Canonized-Fan-Film-Fan-Fiction?

Maybe if we write "THIS IS IMPORTANT, SO GO FUCK OFF" they might believe us. In all seriousness though, FvGB is a great fan film. It's hard to believe that they would delete it for being insignificant. Wikipedia must be on it's period.

Want to talk about things that are unimportant?

Go to wikipedia and look up Superman IV, then look up the guy that played "Nuclear Man"

The sad thing is, when I read this, I thought "Ah, Mark Pillow.." before I even looked it up. Too much Agony Booth for me.

I once tried listing Ed on this page and then made a breif page on the character. The page was promptly deleted but he remained listed for a week or so.

Anyway I think the key to notability is reviews as well as being on imdb. And don't forget it's conection to 'Return of the Ghostbusters'. I should also mention that there is an apeals process on wikipedia if you feel a page was wrongfully deleted.
