I personally felt that Levar Gordon (played by Donte Essien) was the true breakout character of ROTGB! He had a hilarious presence in this film. As soon as he first appeared in the movie you could feel his star power. His whole feud with Ed Spengler was brilliant. When Levar protested the GBs and tossed his sign and bailed, who didn't laugh?

I'd like to dedicate this thread to the great character that is... Levar Gordon!

What a thread revival!  Egads!  Actually, this is a good time to bring up something that's been on my mind since the film's release.  I was going to bring this up down the road but I'll mention it now.

ROTGB was a great fan film and an solid achievement on the part of all those involved but the character development of both Levar and Pavel were just...bad....really bad.  Sorry to say this!

For a character who appears in the finale, he has little to NO development.  It seemed as if the audience was being forced to accept him as a character of great importance to the film and I didn't buy it.  He has 2 scenes before appearing the the finale and while the first one introduced him and established his personality, he appeared later on to beat a dead horse.  Yes, he hates what the GBs do, I got it the first time.  When I saw him putting that gun in his backpack/ jacket (can't remember), I thought the character was going to finally have "his" scene.  The scene that would give him depth and make his presence in the film more important yet nothing.  He's THRUST into the final battle with no development or build up thus risking the credibility and severity of the climax.  Keep tabs on how much screen time he has before the finale.  I remember that Hank and Tim mentioned they were restricted in how long they can have the character in the film.  Solution:  Cut the character out or recast the role with someone who has better availability.

Levar could have been a great character but it's just didn't work out.  Keep in mind I'm not bashing the actor who played him or the film as a whole, but this one aspect.

Levar had a much bigger role in the original script--back when it was 105 pages.  But I wasn't going to shoot a 105 page fan film, so I cut it down to 73 pages.  Levar is now a mixture of two different characters.  Maybe he could have used another scene, but I wanted to keep the action coming.  Also, the actor was incredibly hard to get ahold of/get on set.
