I was watching Freddy vs the Gbs when I realized that you almost exclusively say Poltergeist (noisy ghost) in the movie, Which, for fredy, is largely inacurite Freddy could be decribed as a Killer incubus of sorts, and Smiler, the ghost from the bar that looked like him, which I hope he makes a return bythe way, Was listed as a "focused, non-terminal repeating phantasm" or a "class-five full-roaming vapor" I don't care if you make up some terminology, but use more then just "demon" and Plotergiest" but it is otherwise a great film. Good work guys!!!

He slimed me!!!

Ah... you seem to underestimate the poltergeist...

Poltergeists are more than just "noisy ghosts". They are known as demon spirits that can hurt the living. Usually scratches occur, but in more extreme cases people have actually died.

Never call a poltergeist just a "noisy ghost". When the professionals talk about them in a noisy way, they're usually saying they're the ones with the most potential to move something or cause a disturbance such as noise. So if things are moving and banging in a house, they usually assume its a poltergeist for that reason. It doesn't mean it isn't all it can do.

So, I beleive Freddy would fit under "demon spirit that has the potential to hurt or kill the living". In other words 'Poltergeist'.

Poltergeist is German its translation to English is noisy ghost thats what I meant by that and I'll admit that people have been injured but I know of only one case where a person has died from a poltergeist, and that was the Bell Witch, one of few poltergeists that have been able to communicate with humans, and The scratches are more closely associated with demonic possession( I have yet to have found a credible case where a person has died due to the possession but please tell me if you have one.)

hahaha yeah i don't believe in ghosts personally, i believe the mind is powerful and make the body do anything, i'm a strong believer in science but saying that when you die your energy continues, and that's what's suppose to be a ghost, energy Smiley

I actually do beleive in ghosts. I don't know exactly what they are though.... I've always assumed they were the energy of the deceased. I do beleive they can comunicate in some cases and even change things. I beleive poltergeists are demons.

Some good points, and don't worry the terminology in ROTGB is very diverse.  Not just regarding ghosts, but also astronomy, physics, and "Diff'rent Strokes".

Poltergist, class 5 full roaming vapors, spooks, goblins, demons, Jedi who died and came back as "luminus beings".  It's all generally the same thing.  Ghosts.  Something to use as a means of telling a story.  In the case of reality, sure, why can't their be poltergists or ghosts?  Why not goblins and demons?  Heck, we as a people know a lot, but it's nothing compared to what we don't know.  So maybe it is the energies of dead people.  Maybe it's the spirits, or sould of dead people who haven't moved on yet and need to talk to Jennifer Love Hewit to do it.  Maybe we're the ghosts and spooks and the ones we think are ghosts, are actually the true inhabitants of this plane of existance....

Woah!  I think I had a little too much Dr. Pepper this morning...  Creepy.

There are many different terms for the paranormal. Ghouls, ghosts, goblins, demons, devils, poltergists, etc...

It is basically our way to seperate the different types of disterbances so that way we would all know what we are talking about. That's all. It's a sorting system.

i thought ghosts were just energy, like when you die, the energy that was with you carries on cause energy never dies, or am i wrong??? lol Cheesy thats my scientific approach to it, rather than believing different religious statements on the subject i prefer something worth concrete rather than believing in something like GOD or what not, which is just a thought built on insecurities. lol Smiley

I think there's a pretty good explanation in ROTGB.  At least, our opinion.
