Jay and Silent Bob - Smoking the Blunts!

Hey, I am making a new fan film called "Jay and Silent Bob - Smoking the Blunts". It is based on Kevin Smith's characters Jay and Silent Bob (Duh!) and it is about:
A normal day outside of Quick Stop Convenience Store, Jay and Silent Bob are dealing pot as per usual until there drug dealer wants to know where his money is, one problem, they dont have it!
The film is estimated to be around 10 minutes long, the script is completed and we are ready to start shooting. It will be shot on a Sony camera (DCR-HC 35) and will be shot in B/W. We are using 500w Halogen Work Lights to light this movie and you know all the regular crap. I have a nice crew to work on this project with me.
We were originally going to shoot outside a shop but we got disturbed numerous times while trying to shoot, so we are making a set to replicate the video store on the Kevin Smith movies. We have the money ready, props are sorted too. We can't really show this at any film festivals as it is a fan film so we'll probably get sued or something.
We will post some screen captures of the progress of the set building and as soon as we start filming we'll post captures of that aswell.
Unfortunetly, we have not got Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes in this film but we have Glenn McAllen-Finney (Founder of GM Finney Productions) and James Staley (The Night of Torture, 2006), Glenn as Silent Bob and James as Jay. Funnily enough Glenn is directing this film too.
Anyway feel free to ask any questions and bitch about this film...catch you soon!

I think this is a waste of time personally. I mean, you cannot ever replace the original Jay and Silent Bob with any actor. Not even the Dawson freak, or Pie f*cker could do it in the Strike Back film. Those guys are both one of a kind, funny as hell, and write/direct there own movies. Nobody could compare to there comedy no matter how hard they tried. Not even Braxtan... from BraxtanFilm.com himself. Lol. I would imagine, you are going to find some skinny white guy and put a wig on him for Jay, and get your nerdy fat friend to play Silent Bob right? No. Its not going to work, sorry. I dont care if there acting is A-class, which most fanfilms the acting is around D-level at best. But assuming somehow you did find two miracle actors that looked like Jay and Silent Bob, they still cannot pull it off. Those guys are just to damned unique... and the scripts alone are to damned unique. I would recommend you drop this project and start a new film. You should try to create your own two characters, or something along those lines, and make them like Jay and Silent Bob... but not the actual Jay and Silent Bob. Because when people watch your film they will see a fake Jay and Silent Bob, and they will EXPECT to see funny sh*t, and in return thy will get a fanfilm written script that just doesnt compare to the original Hollywood written ones out there. When people see good, and watch worse... they rate the movie bad. Its like all these Jackass rip-offs now-adays making shows on TV. Do they ever last? Theres over dozens of Jackass wannabes on TV, they get dropped daily... why? Because people have already seen the best "Jackass: Number Two" so when they watch something like "Team Sanchez" on MTV2... they see it as a "Generic" version of the "Originals".

I thought Braxtan was getting rid of the kids on these forums? Guess not.
I made some well-put points as to why this film shouldn't be made. You made none, besides making yourself look more immature then you already have in the past. I didn't say he "Couldn't" make this film, did I? I simply stated, I didn't believe he "Should" which is my own opinion. You know why you haven't seen anyone else do this film before? Because of the reasons I listed already in the first post, you just helped me prove my point, moron. Thank you also.
I even suggested ideas he could take, in replacement of making this film, to help him out. In no way was I in the wrong. Correct? Of course. Like stated, he should make his own "SPIN-OFF" of Jay / Silent Bob, with his own two created characters. It would be more enjoyable, because people wouldnt have to have the idea in there head that the movie is nothing like the original Jay / Silent Bob. They would see the movie more for what it is, a COMEDY... rather than a RIPOFF. I personally do not think any actor or writer could pull off the acting skill and writing skill of Jay / Silent Bob. If they could, it would have been done. Theres a reason these guys are in Hollywood.
They are probably two of the most well respected comedians in the business today, because of there talent and un-replacable roles. So... I signoff again... saying...
- Enough said.

They're honestly stupid characters. I personally would rather not see someone try to replicate something so stupid.

Lmao. I wouldnt be surprised if they did that in one of the next Clerks or Jay / Silent Bob flicks. Or used Matt.
"And by the way mitch, kevin smith and jason mewes are both horrible actors"
I dont see how they are horrible actors? Silent Bob doesnt even talk, how can you be horrible at standing there? Lol. Hmm? As for Jay, his character portayed in the flicks, is supposed to be that of a pot-smoker. Which he plays perfectly. Half because hes a decent actor and half because he really does do drugs. If you notice, he is playing a complete moron in all his films, thats what hes SUPPOSE TO DO. So how is he a bad actor? He plays his role exactly how its suppose to be played. He's never been in Chick Flick Romance Film like "The Notebook" so we will never see how he does, correct me if Im wrong?
Therefore, Jay acts out the part... like a drugged out comedian. Enough said.
Btw: Hi Braxtan, lol =]

I really do appreciate all your comments, yes I am still making this film (why wouldn't I). But I just want you to know this is our second film, EVER, and I really don't want you to expect a really good film, even a good one but please give us some constructive comments on how to make them better. And just to support mitch's comment, i am getting some skinny guy to play Jay and shove a wig on his head and getting some fat fuck to play Silent Bob ( Me
). I have a screen test but it is super bad quality, the acting is TERRIBLE (as nothing practised), the costumes havnt been set up properly, but the script i think is really funny, and yes we will never be like the real jay and silent bob but we can give it a shot to make you laugh and its just a little bit of fun really. So thanks for your comments and see you all soon!

GM-Good luck and have fun!
Mitch-You expressed you opinion, points for that, but unnesscarily harsh! Points taken away. Just say whatyou don't like but don't rip GM apart for just wanting to make a film!
Omni- It is his opinion, but true, a bit too harsh. Either way, don't tell him to shut up and simply tell him not to be rude, "Shut up's" led to conflict. Let's not start a conflict (same goes to Mitch).
Weiss- Indeed!
Braxtan- Hooray!
Andrew- Possibly true!
Notorious- Don't be daft.
I'm finished, time for Taco Bell.

Search the net for Freddy VS Jay and Silent Bob. The actors playing J&SB in that film are great.

Yeah besides the fact that Jay only talked for 45seconds if that. Lol. I dont know, the rest was just them making facial expressions and pulling bannanas from there pockets and sh*t. I didnt see any real "Great" acting. The guy playing Jay seemed to sound like him, but I think there should have been more talking. In the movies all Jay does is constantly run his mouth none stop. The film was to out of place for me, it was really weird... the scenes that is. I liked the b&w at the end, kind of a throwback to Clerks. Freddy is also a talker. I think this film could have been better if Jay and Freddy talked more and made more jokes. Because really Freddy is a comedian as well, and now that I think about it, he acts like Jay... it would have been cool to see them both arguing or something. More comedy is what it needed, it dragged. You cant put Jay / Silent Bob / and Freddy together without some cheesy jokes and lame one liners... lol.
