Eww.....linear editing!

But, yeah, film is so much better. It doesn't have that ultra-sharpness and colour intensity. Plus the framerate works smoother, as I understand it.
If I had a choice between seeing a movie shot entirely in DV or seeing one done on film, I'll take the latter.

A few things factor into that, as I've come to understand it:

1. The people using the video are probably doing so because they don't have enough money in the budget for anything else. And if they do, and are just using it because they want to give it that "Indy" look, then they're posers.

2. I don't like the way DV looks compared to film, even Super 8.

3. Film has a certain nostalgia to it, plus because folks have been working with it longer they know how to manipulate it more than DV, which is considerably younger.

DV is making incredible strides, and Sony is at the helm. But it still can't compare to film in the end.

BTW, WTF is Hi-Def? Last time I checked that was reserved for TV's......

It's a poster I had hanging in my house that I hung up on the set to make it look "lived in".  Since I had a frame, I hung the frame over it.

...and why was it there you ask?

Why bother shooting on 16?

It's a requirement that movie coming out of 'Intro to 16mm' be shot on 16mm yeah I know it's crazy

The film looks awesome. All it needs is the music, and it'll be a hit for sure!

Yes, so a few people have seen a VERY rough cut.  It will be much better when it's finally finished!

I'm wondering, will that predator ever be in "stealth" mode, all invisible and such?

Lesson #447 about the United States, blame everything on everyone else. Even if it's your fault.
