That wasnt bad, the final product will need some effects work so it all flows and looks better, but i like what i see so far.
The Terminator franchise is a personal favourite of mine and i am suprised there arnt more fan films out there, i would love to see more!

Keep us updated, looking forward to seeing more of this.

Thanks dude. For the final product I'm planning on adding some cutaways to the attacking machines and fixing some of the color correction and sky tracking issues. On the shakier shots you can probably tell that I just threw my hands up and put in a colored solid to replace the blown out sky. The motion tracking is almost all done manually and some of these shots were draining the sanity I had budgeted for this project...

I'm not sure why there aren't more Terminator fan films out there. The whole concept lends itself to low budget treatment. As soon as Josh (the director) told me he wanted to make one, I went searching on Youtube and the pickens are slim. He said he wants to make the best Terminator fan film ever and I, without irony, told him he probably already had. Smiley

You did the special effects? That looks very well professionally done!

Now your friend have to work on his camera skills. I got sea sick!

Thanks SG. I don't know that I'd call it professional; I'm a competent dabbler at best. But I definitely appreciate the props.

I saw the director at work today while I was checking my schedule and told him that he made you seasick. He kinda hung his head and promised to be more stable in the future (He also promised not so much sky in the effects shots next time. Maybe I'm pushing him too hard Smiley )

Thanks! He shot a few more scenes yesterday. After I got off work, I brought him a couple of crates of Airsoft guns to use during the shoot and after I gave my spiel about what to do and not do with plastic guns, his buddy's living room immediately erupted into a John Woo style slo mo fest. One guy was even waving his hands in the air making slo mo doves.

The Spaced episode where they mention things that are hardwired into male psychology is no joke...

I figured after several years of hanging out on this board, I should actually post something I've worked on. I thought I'd kinda outgrown the idea of fan films, but a kid I work with had been helping out with my feature I'm currently working on and was really excited about this Terminator fan film that he had come up with. I told him I'd help him out with it and let him use my gear, but only if he shot a future war scene in the debris filled field behind our work place.

A few weeks later, he spends about an hour out back shooting two of his buddies and one of our co-workers with plastic guns and brings me the footage on a DVD a few hours later and asks me to work some magic on it. After several days of cursing about the kid's obsession with "gritty, realistic" hand held footage, I presented him with this....

Let me know what you guys think, and be on the lookout for the whole shebang in a couple of months.

I love how they can link to the site and still say BraxtOn Film.

Seriously. How does this happen? It's even spelled right in the crew listing.

That really depends on what your goals are. Avid seems to be bit more industry standard.

This movie is inexplicably making a comeback. A couple of folks at the store I manage say they regard it less as an adaptation and more as a weird inter dimensional sci-fi flick that holds up on its own. I guess I'd buy that for a dollar.

Nicely done.

Nice. You just need the scraggly soul patch and some oversize brown gloves and you're set.

Wish we could have borrowed your gear. Tool belts were a little outside the budget...
