Far from dead.

Between MegaMan working film gigs, GBG was in a doomed stage in terms of delays but not dead.

Honestly, GBG could be out next week or next month and longer.  With MegaMan done,  I need to finish up some jobs and then I have an open schedule.   I've been working on it in bits and pieces over the summer. so I should be able to sit down later this month and devote more time to getting it done.  Although it's been 5 years, MegaMan ate up about 3 years of that so now it's a matter of getting focus.  Unfortunately,  I can't give a specific release date yet.

With "Megaman" released, this summer is it.  No exact date will be announced until I'm 100% since if I announce and miss it, I will only angry more people!

Relax fellas, it’s not a contest. I love Hank’s Ghostbusters films and know others do too. His work is an inspiration to us all!

-Scott Silver
Director of Ghostbusters SLC

Second, sir.  ROTGB and SLC are two different bags and different takes.  Fan film comparisons tire me.....blergh.

We must admit though that SLC IS one of the better bunch of Gb fan films.

Saw a couple where they really trashed the acting, but I more or less meant that even though there is a feature length Ghostbusters fan film made by professionals and made with great participation from the fan community out there... a half an hour action scene with sub-par fx is hailed as "the best gb fan film ever" and that it "is the only one out there to recapture the essence of the original movies".

"Clear" will go online for sale in June along with a new short I'm selling.

Listen of upcoming happenings:

May:
-MM Release

June:
-2 new shorts will be released (one of which will be for sale in a 2 disc DVD set.  It's rather ambitious and was shot RED :3 but one will be on the site )
-Clear goes for sale on the site (mostly likely a digital copy that should be cheap).

July:
-GBG is released.

Fall 2010:
-A short I did in early 2009 ends it's festival run and goes online (can provide copy upon request via. download link).

However, if you want a copy of "Clear" in advance, that's something that would be easier to set up!  It's going to be online for cheap since the film isn't "new" (being a mid-2007 film).

2010 is the year to tie all loose ends since I want to focus solely on my thesis film come this fall!

At least it isn't taking as long as Ghostbusters Generations.
That thing STILL hasn't been released.

About 3.5 years, which isn't too bad, compared to some others- I know there was a few guys who "got sick of waiting for Indiana Jones 4 to come out" so they set off to make their own movie... back in the summer of 2005 or possibly earlier. Ironic that they got beaten to the punch by the real deal. I stopped caring a few years ago whether they finished it or not, but half a decade is impressive.

Speaking of Daftkid, I hope he's working on the next installment of his "Love in Chinatown" trilogy, as the first two films were riveting!

Don't mean to thread hijack but I heard GBG mentioned.

GBG was my first professional venture and is still the only film I've done in the last 4 years that's yet to be released.  The delay was due to poor planning :[.  Then again, some films are NEVER released.  At least I actually get stuff done; I just got REALLY unlucky with GBG.

I actually did a 3rd foreign film which made it into festivals (can link upon request)and will be doing the last of the trilogy on 16mm in a few months!  As for GBG, the many reason behind the GBG delay:

www.megamanfilm.com

Test screened it at a gaming convention a week ago to an astonishing audience reaction Cheesy.  MM has gotten my full attention since it's going to be the more successful of the two sooo I'm gonna use the attention of MM to get more people to watch GBG (since the hype died down when I started slipping with the VFX in post-production which led to the delays).  In other words, finishing GBG won't be released  until MM is release in the beginning of the Spring.

Back to the topic at hand:

It's a given Hank and those involved in the completion of this short are very busy with both this project, work, and various other things.  It will get done when it gets done.  We waited 2 years for another Braxtan project, so I'm sure a few more days or a couple of weeks is more than manageable =].  I'm eager to see what he has cooked up but will be patient.

Long answer short:

The film will be released shortly before Megaman is released.  That can be as soon as December or January.

Same story here.  With recent developments, it seems GB3 is getting closer and closer so let's hope the ball ain't dropped again!

Cool!

Since the game is set in 1991, I would assume that the franchise comment is related to other divisions and not something RotGB related (which would be post-2003).  This franchise idea was something Ackroyd always wanted to play with (since draft 1 of the first film) but I wouldn't be surprised if RotGB was one of the many aspect to help to push that idea in the game.
