Our first fan film of 2006 is more of a parody, actually. Fan films pay tribute to a franchise...we kind of make fun of one. This idea was originally hatched back in the fall of 2004, when I was trying to think of a way to make fun of "Alien VS Predator"--which is just too easy. "Illegal Aliens VS Predator" is one of the first things that popped into my mind; partly because of a line I heard in the movie "Aliens" (fans know which line I refer to). Scott had a similar idea, but it was "Illegal Alien VS Sexual Predator"--use your imagination.
I looked for a Predator costume for months before we met this fellow in Denver who had made his own. On a friggin' freezing day in November 2005, we drove out to the middle of nowhere, Colorado, and filmed this mock trailer on someone's private property. Will this offend people? Probably at least a few; but I don't really care. This idea was too funny to pass up--just the title alone is enough to make me laugh. You might note that this is only a trailer--and that's all it will ever be.
The funny thing about this film is how offended people get. It's a joke, people! Get over it. Interesting how if Carlos Mencia makes the same joke it's all fun and games, yet if I do it I'm racist.
