You're probably thinking that this is a little out of the ordinary for this site. Well, first off--I'm a huge hockey fan. Furthermore I love the Colorado Avalanche. I thought it would be fun to have a lightsaber fight between an Avalanche fan and a Red Wings fan (Arch rivals). My idea was to finish it, and send it to the Avalanche video presentation department to hopefully be shown on the jumbotron. Thanks to a friend, I had a way to get it to the right people. So I dropped it off, and didn't hear anything back. So I called them about a week later and asked them what the dealio was. The gal on the phone said "It was funny, and we all really enjoyed it. But we're not going to use it". "Why not?", I asked. "Well, we have our own video department.", was the answer. I wonder then, how come they never make anything good? I mean, when was the last time you saw something entertaining at a sporting event? Heck, even the event itself isn't worth the $200 bucks I have to pay to sit in the rafters. You know why they won't play it? They're scared. Yup, some dude and his friends made something infinitely better than anything they could come up with. They don't want to get canned. Now, I didn't ask for anything for doing this, just tickets to the game. Since they didn't play it, the Avalanche lost a pivotal game against the Wings and went on to lose the division title to the Canucks. Then the Avs were ousted in the second round by the Sharks. If only the players and fans could have been pumped up and motivated by this nothing short of genius video, the Avalanche would have surely reigned as NHL Stanley Cup Champions for years to come. Thanks, Avalanche video department!
